* From June 2002 through August 2005 all proceeds went to Friends of Calakmul to preserve land in Mexico. However, as of September 2005, this project has expanded its area of focus to include rainforests around the world. Now all proceeds go to The Nature Conservancy's Adopt-an-Acre Program to facilitate this mission. As a result of this change, the acres saved per dollar raised has changed. Rates per acre changed with changes in program focus: September 2005- April 2006 $75 per acre (Brazilian Rainforest); May 2006 - August 2006 $50 per acre (African Rainforest).
** From April 2007 through July 2008, I collected $1,132.00 in clicks from the free click site - I covered this entire expense due to a lack of sponsors. This click-to-donate part of the site has been discontinued.
** Advertising Funds are provided by generous donations from visitors like you - and also from my own pocket. I use these funds strategically to support other causes (other click-to-donate sites) as well as providing advertising for this site - you get more bang for your buck!
